M. O. du Boberil

A first part of the commented visit concerns the characteristic elements of a very old castral site, still present in the XXI century: medieval cooler, flees with its rotating scale, castral chapel, park and gardens.
In the second part, will be presented videos explaining the great work of restoration of roofs in the Mansart, dormers and cornices in tufa. These works are probably the most important on the castle since the end of the XVII or the very beginning of the XVIII th century and will have lasted nearly 3 years.

"La Faucille is a beautiful castle of the seventeenth century, classic, balanced, pierced by seven bays, built in materials of the country: moëlles of red shale and tuffeau of the Loire. It seems to be built with one coming, without taking over. Beautiful visible framework of the attic at the Mansard. Interior joinery late XVIIth well preserved. One notices in particular the staircase of honor in stone of a very beautiful drawing in plan. Quality wrought iron railing. Servitudes, fuye and chapel good seventeenth. It is necessary to point out the access bridge to 2 arches on the river Oudon. This book appears to be from the 16th century." From H. Enguéhard, 1969.
