During a 45-minute guided tour, discover the history of the priory of Saint-Rémy-la-Varenne .
Founded in 929 by the counts of Anjou, the priory is in the Middle Ages one of the richest benefits of Anjou. Transformed into a seigneury in the 16th century, it underwent architectural modifications, displaying Italian-style carved medallions on its facade and a sumptuous carved and polychrome fireplace in its main room.

Founded in 929 by the counts of Anjou, the priory of Saint Rémy was one of the richest profits of Anjou in the Middle Ages, before becoming a seigneury in the sixteenth century. Today the priory is distinguished by the presence of a monumental polychrome fireplace with sculpted motifs of the sixteenth century, as well as by a superb fresco of the end of the twelfth century, one of the oldest in Anjou.
