From its rocky promontory, the castle dominates the Verzée valley and proudly defends the kingdom of France on the steps of Brittany. Since the 13th century, its six towers have witnessed ardent battles between the French and Bretons.
Visiting the fortress of Pouancé means crossing nearly four centuries of French history in the footsteps of the Hundred Years War, John II of Alençon - companion of Joan of Arc - or Bertrand du Guesclin.
Explore the remains of the medieval castle of Pouancé and experience an immersion in the heart of history.

**Saturday:First departure at 14:30 then every 45 minutes

Modalities

Provide good shoes and clothing adapted to weather conditions (hat, rainwear...)
Damaged site: strollers strongly discouraged.
The site is open all year round by reservation for groups (from 15 people) and for individuals, from mid-June to mid-September, from Tuesday to Saturday, at 10:30.

Real castle - very medieval, the castle of Pouancé is installed(settled) on border between the Anjou and Brittany. It is going to know several big(great) battles and will be one of the main points of the conquest of Brittany by the Kingdom of France. The building, unchanged for the 15th century, will make you travel in time. A the end of visit, tours(towers,ballots), home and coolbox will have no more secret as you!

The site visits all year long on reservation for groups and from mid-June to mid-September for the individual (on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 15 h) - The site counts about 50 walking(steps) - Plan(Provide for) good shoes and clothes adapted to weather report.
