Visit of the exhibition "Fragments"
Fragments
The fragment is a literary form in prose popular with German romantics. Often very brief, it offers writers a rare freedom of writing. The exhibition organized by the museum presents an aesthetic variation, imagined by the members of the photo workshop of the Downtown/ Pont-Morineau neighbourhood house. Amateur photographers, they roam the streets and urban spaces in search of fragile and ephemeral subjects. Their photographs bear witness to their wanderings and explorations. “Invariably the fragment postulates a lost totality,” says Pierre Garrigue in Poétiques du fragment, published in 1995. In photography, the fragment draws its strength from its framing, which deprives the subject of any context. Its aesthetics then confine to abstraction and the universal and brings the spectator back to a great narrative, conducive to glare and emotion.
Exhibition of the Museum in collaboration with the members of the photo workshop of the Downtown/ Pont-Morineau neighbourhood house. Outdoor exhibition until December 2023.
