A little higher than Notre-Dame, in the cemetery, are the ruins of the former parish church of St Maxenceul, destroyed by a storm in 1754. After the catastrophe, the parishioners asked Jean de Stapleton to put the priory (at the time, already amputated from his choir by a wall separating it from the nave) at their disposal. Disused, the old church now stands its mutilated silhouette amidst cypress trees.
