The work on the Grand Bain is complete. L'Ouvre-Boîtes is delighted to finally open the doors of the Grand Bain in the form of free entrance so that as many people can (re)discover this building of the Nantes historical heritage. This day falls on the day of the 20th anniversary of the Ouvre-Boîtes, so it will also be an opportunity to meet those who now make this place live and to enjoy the market of creators offered that day.

The shower baths, named "Red House" after the quay of the time, were built in 1860 according to the plans of the chief architect-voyer of the City Henri-Théodore Driollet. Intended for the working class of the neighborhood, they were also accessible to professional washerwomen and the more affluent populations who contributed, by paying their entrance, to access to the poorest. Since 2019, they have been welcoming "La coopérative: travailler - vivre - consommation solidaire" carried by Ouvre-Boîtes 44.
