We exceptionally open the maussolée Beaumanoir to the public so that it has access to the tomb it contains. Carrara marble tomb of great finesse. We will tell the story of M Bourry de la Fauvelaie, his life, his convictions and the anecdotes surrounding this colourful character .

This is the last vestige of the domain of the same name, having belonged to M. Nicolas –François-Pierre BOURRY LA FAUVELAIS , count de la Fauvelais (1760-1842). This mausoleum still houses the Count’s tomb. Legend has it that he is buried there with his dog. Bourry La Fauvelais was a lawyer at the bar of Angers, anticlerical, defender of the ideas of the Enlightenment and for the equality of classes.
