«UCO opens its reserves»: Visit of the reserves of ancient books of the University Library

This year, during the European Heritage Days, «the UCO opens its reserves», the opportunity to discover the heritage fund of the University Library!
Composed of more than 65,000 works (including 16,000 before 1811), the oldest pieces date back to the 15th century: manuscripts and incunabula. It also houses private collections bequeathed by teachers and friends of the UCO.
Tours are free of charge, subject to availability. Reception takes place in the lobby of the Jeanneteau building (entrance via 6 rue Merlet de la Boulaye)
Also to be discovered in the reception hall, animation by the students of the ANaturAE association around Robert Corillion, professor who marked the teaching of botany at the UCO in the twentieth century.

The heritage of the Catholic University of the West consists of many movable and scientific objects among which art tapestries, textile objects, paintings, important scientific collections (chemistry, physics, geologist, paleontologist, botany, zoology), a chapel from the late 19th century, as well as a collection of books from before 1811 containing more than 16,000 works.
