The incredible and fabulous story of Chromo-Sapiens

From the infinitely small to the infinitely large
15 - 17 September 2023Passed
Muséum de Nantes

From the infinitely small to the infinitely large Three markers: the small, the large and the infinite. Two constraints: color and abstraction.
This is the bet that the painter Philippe Naud has accepted to play with his brushes: to go through a point of balance, to stretch the thread so that the imagination as a good tightrope walker runs. The imaginary, true hero, as discreet as silence, guardian of the doors of our body, visionary of the mind, follows the lines and curves, leaves the colors free. Abstraction translates a thought into movement, it reveals the imagination of the Chromo-Sapiens that guides it. Exhibition visible on the gates of the Garden of the Museum, Place de la Monnaie.

About the location

Muséum d'histoire naturelle de nantes
square Louis Bruneau, Place de la Monnaie, 44000 Nantes

The building corresponds to the juxtaposition of two buildings of different period: - a part built between 1821 and 1826 of classical style which housed a mint, a palace of justice, a science school and a business school before becoming an integral part of the museum from 1970\. - a section inaugurated in 1875 at the end of the 19th century to house natural history collections. The entrance is surmounted by an historiated pediment, sculpted by Guillaume Grootaers, which represents the science illuminating the world.
