Maureen Desnos and Sylvain Enault are two young designers who graduated from the École supérieure d'art et de design TALM-Angers in 2023 and 2022. Founder of the garage workshop, the young designer Sylvain Enault presents his project of auto-construction workshop of motorized vehicles. Sylvain proposes to self-build our vehicles in order to acquire more autonomy vis-à-vis the car manufacturers. For him, the car is dead. We must totally reinvent it. He wishes to build vehicles easily repairable, from recycled materials. “Down with the electronic suitcase that constantly forces us to go to the garage! We want to get our hands dirty! To have control over our vehicles!" In his approach, he claims the freedom to illegally drive these non-homogeneous vehicles. The young design graduate Maureen Desnos explores and questions the different uses and assemblies through the creation of unusual objects. Combining an object with the function of another object makes it possible to confront two realities that have no reason to meet. Forcing disparate elements to coexist to become an absurd object aims to question its old and new use. The realization of these objects is imagined and conceived on an absurd, utopian and humorous basis, but may paradoxically find a logic and legitimacy.
