Old(Former) fief in the sphere of influence of Trier, held in XIVÈ century by Guy de Pommereux. Then the domain passes in the family of Laval, then to Bertrand du Guesclin by its marriage with Jeanne de Laval in 1371 - he fought then, against the English people, cut out in the abbey of Saint-Maur, in some kilometres. In 1575, the castle passes in the family of Aubigné, then in 1676 to Marc-Antoine Goislard, to advise(recommend) to the Parliament of Paris. Montsabert stays in this family until 1842\. In XIXÈ century, he(it) passes in different hands until 1934 when he(it) is acquired by the Frenchwoman of the carotenes who uses him(it) as holiday camp. Having built for the main part between XIII ° and XV °, the castle belongs to B. du Guesclin at the end of XIV °, then in the patrimonial domain of Laval. Irregular set(group), it is flanked(thrown) in the angles of three tours(towers,ballots) of different template(size) and of a detached house(flag) squared in bartizan and machicoulis late. Many modifications were added in XVII ° (opening of windows, classic broken front walls(pediments)) then in XIX ° - their impact being particularly sensitive on prescription XV ° of the court(yard). The crenellated crowning of the West tower (XIII °) and that in machicoulis of the tower the South (XV °) disappeared in XX °.
