Angers Tir Sportif organizes a friendly challenge of shooting with Ancient weapons. Every year we invite shooters using period or replica weapons to participate in this sporting activity. The Challenge des Arquebusiers of King René makes live the shooting with weapons of more than 100 years, weapons of the time of Napoleon, Fayette, Surcouf, weapons of history. Our sport requires historical knowledge of weapon handling, maintenance or repair. From the cutting of flints to the casting of balls, the practice of ancient weapons makes live an ancient and historical art. The matches will give rise to rankings between competitors, depending on the time of their weapons, the mode of ignition (mecha, flint, percussion...) of the calibre. Matches are played on 13 balls in 30 minutes. Participants are invited free of charge for the pleasure of the spectators. Visitors will be able to observe the shots and the practitioners, they will be accompanied by volunteers to make them live their sports.
