Counter-employment: Urban Art & Heritage
Counter-Employment Urban Art & Heritage Sept 16 – Dec 31, 2023
La Collégiale Saint-Martin breaks the codes by inviting artists from Street Art - art of the instant and the forbidden - to «confront» its millennial past. For this new challenge, the Collegiate Church has approached the Angevine artistic director Doris Koffi, founder of Art Project Partner and curator of the exhibition. The selection of seventeen French artists was made in order to discover a specific aspect, period or discipline of urban art: graffiti, stickers, drawings, paintings, stencils, trompe-l'oeil, installations, sculptures, videos... The meeting between Street Art and historical heritage, between ephemeral art and collective memory, promises to be explosive! By bringing street culture into the Collegiate Church, the site reveals all its colours and affirms its desire to bring together all generations. Inaugurated for the European Heritage Days, discover this unique exhibition during flash visits and animations, from the square of the monument.
