Former episcopal palace, the building adopts the plan of a private mansion between courtyard and garden. The museum has more than 30,000 pieces that testify to the life of Nîmes since the High Middle Ages. Textile collections from 18th-century merchant manufacturers, collections from the Nîmes Manufacturing School, typical Nîmes and Cévenols furniture, regional pottery are the jewels of which the museum is a jewel. One of the permanent rooms is dedicated to the fabulous legend of jeans.
