The municipal washhouse of Pont-Saint-Esprit dates from the 19th century. Listed as a Historic Monument and awarded «Ribbons of Heritage», it was built to magnify this main entrance named faubourg Saint-Jacques. The washhouse was built according to the plans of the architect Pralong, in a neo-classical style. The municipality, with the help of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, the Occitanie region, the Gard Department, and the Heritage Foundation, restored it in 2015.
