About the location

Musée de la Romanité
16 boulevard des Arènes, 30000 Nîmes
  • Gard
  • Occitanie
In Nîmes, facing the 2,000-year-old arenas, the Musée de la romanité presents 25 centuries of history through 5,000 exceptional archaeological pieces staged by 65 multimedia devices in an immersive museography (augmented reality, monumental audiovisual projections, etc.). Discover life in a Gallic house, then the Roman mosaics with their restored colorful wall decorations, objects of everyday life, admire the Arenas behind the rampart exactly as if you were there 2000 years ago, and trace the influence of romance over the centuries. The ancient city of Nemausus and its most beautiful buildings will have no secrets for you. Much more than a museum, it is a real ultra-modern living space that offers itself to you thanks to seminar spaces, a restaurant overlooking the Arena, an archaeological garden, and especially a superb rooftop with 360° panoramic views of the city.
