The Sirius association opens the doors of a place steeped in history and perched on the hillsides of Floirac during visits combining scientific and artistic heritage.
Follow the researchers in the discovery of the Floirac observatory and its dome of the Grand Equatorial. This astronomical observation building has hosted a contemporary art installation since June 2017: The Observatory/Science Fiction Library by British artist Suzanne Treister*.
A visit that allows you to delve into the history of techniques related to the observation of the sky and the imagination they evoke.
*Produced as part of the Bordeaux Métropole public art program "Art in the city" and first element of the "Les vaisseaux de Bordeaux" triptych_, this work puts into perspective theories related to technological developments through references to science fiction literature._
Visits proposed by the association Sirius and Bordeaux Métropole. In partnership with the University of Bordeaux and the City of Floirac.
