Visit Saint-Sever otherwise, it’s possible! Equipped with a digital tablet, discover the emblematic place of Saint-Sever. Do not miss this monument listed as a Historic Monument, founded in 988, freely open to visitors. The abbey is a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the Santiago de Compostela Way.
Its abbey church has preserved a very rare chevet with 7 stepped apses of the eleventh century. Many destructions and reconstructions have evolved the church whose interior is completely renovated as in the nineteenth century. 77 capitals and a Romanesque tympanum adorn the building. Its romantic organ Cavaillé-Coll in a buffet eighteenth century allows to decorate services and concerts. The cloister of the seventeenth century and the chapter house became treasure room, are also freely visited.
