Composting is a recycling route for organic waste and the site is an eco-responsible local recycling solution. The Aquitaine Compost site recovers 85,000 tonnes of waste each year (urban sludge from water treatment, industrial sludge, green waste, wood, bio waste, etc.). The site produces 60,000 tonnes of sustainable fertilizers annually that are applied to the surrounding agricultural land.
