Das Becken wurde im 19. Jahrhundert mit einem Gewölbe bedeckt und war seitdem vollständig mit Salzwasser gefüllt.
Nach der Evakuierung des Salzwassers und umfangreicher Arbeiten kann nun die Krypta besichtigt werden. Dieser Abstieg unter den Hauptplatz von Salies-de-Béarn ermöglicht den Eintritt in einen Raum, in dem Lichtspiele eine Konstruktion hervorheben, die noch nie zuvor enthüllt wurde.
Es ist auch eine Gelegenheit, über die Geschichte der Nutzung von Salzwasser seit über 3000 Jahren zu sprechen.

Once a place of open-air drainage, the basin was covered with a vault in the 19th century and since then, this crypt was completely filled with salt water.

Once a place of open-air extraction, the basin was covered with a vault in the nineteenth century and since then, this crypt was completely filled with salt water.
After the evacuation of this salt water and important works, the crypt can now be visited. This descent under what has become the main square of Salies-de-Béarn allows to enter a space where the play of light highlight a construction never unveiled so far.
It is also an opportunity to talk about the history of salt water exploitation for more than 3,000 years.

Un tempo luogo di estrazione all'aperto, il bacino è stato coperto da una volta nel XIX secolo e da allora questa cripta è stata completamente riempita con acqua salata.
Dopo l'evacuazione dell'acqua salata e importanti lavori, la cripta può ora essere visitata. Questa discesa sotto quella che è diventata la piazza principale di Salies-de-béarn permette di entrare in uno spazio dove i giochi di luce mettono in evidenza una costruzione mai svelata finora.
È anche l'occasione per ricordare la storia legata allo sfruttamento dell'acqua salata da oltre 3.000 anni.

Autrefois lieu de puisage en plein air, le bassin a été recouvert d'une voute au XIXe siècle et depuis lors, cette crypte était totalement remplie d'eau salée.
Après l'évacuation de cette eau salée et d'importants travaux, la crypte peut dorénavant être visitée. Cette descente sous ce qui est devenue la place principale de Salies-de-Béarn permet de pénétrer dans un espace où les jeux de lumière mettent en valeur une construction jamais dévoilée jusqu'à présent.
C'est aussi l'occasion d'évoquer l'histoire liée à l'exploitation de l'eau salée depuis plus de 3 000 ans.

Antiguamente lugar de extracción al aire libre, la cuenca fue cubierta con una bóveda en el siglo XIX y desde entonces esta cripta estaba totalmente llena de agua salada.
Después de la evacuación de esta agua salada y de importantes trabajos, la cripta puede ser visitada. Este descenso bajo lo que se ha convertido en la plaza principal de Salies-de-Bearn permite penetrar en un espacio donde los juegos de luz ponen de relieve una construcción nunca antes revelada.
Es también la ocasión de evocar la historia vinculada a la explotación del agua salada desde hace más de 3.000 años.
