Come and discover the links between sport and heritage! Around several guests representing different sports (pelota, Basque strength, surfing, dance, skating, etc.), the association bastidote of ethnology and anthropology associated with the Liber & Litterae library and in partnership with the Institut des Sciences du Sport Santé de Paris, will question, limit or open the discussion of what can be sport, and what it is not!
This will help to understand why it is so important in our daily lives, as well as in our cultures and history. Because sport is the place where local and global identities play out. It reconfigures space and time, and our relationships to the world.
So, if you are intrigued or passionate about sport and heritage, come and listen to the actresses and actors of local sport testify and debate with them.
(We will receive the Association Gaia on the Basque strength games, the local association of 9-pin players, the dance company SO.K Danza, and perhaps other speakers!)

What is sport: a game, an art, a competition, a show, a custom? Sometimes elusive, it is clearly a reflection of our societies. But sport, so present in our daily lives, is little invested by the cultural field while it regularly makes the hearts of villages and cities beat, brings together generations and bears the memory of our cultures.
To understand how sport is worthy of being noticed by heritage, the association of ethnology and anthropology Ways of Seeing has partnered with the library Liber & Litterae, to propose a conference-debate at La Bastide-Clairence animated by the anthropologist Anne-MarieSophie Sayeux, teacher-researcher engaged in research questioning the body, sensations and links to nature.
Several guests will enrich the exchanges around the Basque pelota, Basque strength games, surfing ... and perhaps other surprises!
The library will prepare sports-related books available for loan.
