About the location

L’imprimerie Plainemaison, futur Frac-artothèque de Nouvelle-Aquitaine
17bis rue Charles-Michels, 87000 Limoges
  • Haute-Vienne
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Owned by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the building of the former Plainemaison printing house designed in 1893 by the architect Alfred Rouchaud will house the Fonds Régional d'Art Contemporain (FRAC) and the Artothèque de Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Its remarkable metallic architecture, its monumental facade, its wide bays and the two levels of open galleries make it an exceptional witness to the history of the Limougeaude printing press. Its conversion was entrusted to the architectural firm Jakob+Macfarlane, known in particular for its achievements such as the FRAC Centre, the restaurant Georges du Centre Georges Pompidou or the Docks - Cité de la Mode et du Design in Paris.
