Immerse yourself in the Middle Ages, discover two emblematic heritage sites and walk along the ancestral paths of Xaintrie in the heart of a wild and preserved nature.
Start the day at 10:30 am with the guided tour of Tours de Merle, discover the history and mysteries with a guide. Then accompanied by a guide, walk through the woods on the ancestral paths and enjoy the remarkable natural heritage of Xaintrie. Picnic stop pulled from the bag on the way to finally join the Carbonnières Towers to discover its stories, legends and surprises!
The return will be at 17h by mini-bus to the car park of the starting point (Tours de Merle).

Medieval Castrum of the XIIth and XIIIth centuries, listed(classified) in conformance with(for) Historic monuments since 1927, located in Xaintrie, between the valley of the Dordogne and the mounts of Cantal. Towers of Blackbird are built on a rocky spur along 200 metres and surrounded by the river Moan. The castrum served as border post between the Duchy of Aquitaine and the County of Auvergne. He(It) was marked by an important organisation in co-seigniory. The park of 10ha shelters the castrum, the firm reconstructed farmer, the ruins of a medieval village, the House Madège with model and archaeological objects.
