The Louis Puyaubert geological space presents 3000 samples out of the 6500 in the collection. Among the majority of Corrézien samples are numerous foreign specimens, including pieces offered by leading mineralogists. You can observe in particular a spectacular quartz of the Alps offered by Alfred Lacroix. The space includes 20 showcases including:
- a central showcase dedicated to the presentation of the former Meyrignac-de-Bar mine,
- a display window from the Pouget Stone Room, the residence of Louis Puyaubert, to show the original version of the collection,
- a display case containing originals (the catalogue of the collection drawn up by Dr Puyaubert and his wife Thérèse, his sketchbooks, his personal microscope, correspondence exchanged with Alfred Lacroix and deposited in Naves by the Museum).
Documentation will be available: a space triptych, a brochure «L'espace géologique Louis Puyaubert, son histoire», a double DVD «Des pierres, un homme».
