It is little known, but Protestantism has played a leading role in the development of sport worldwide. Inventor of basketball and volleyball through the network of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), he was the promoter of a number of sports after the defeat of 1870, in the name of an ideal of physical strength as moral: «muscular Christianity» (Muscular Christianity). It is this story that we propose to discover in an exhibition that will make way for many portraits of Protestant athletes of high level, from yesterday to today.
