This exhibition is organized by the city of Capbreton in partnership with the Landes departmental council as part of the «Knowledge shared and enhancement of the Landes heritage» scheme.
River with multiple springs and many tributaries, the Adour is of living water, tumultuous when it goes down the mountain then lazy when it travels the plains. Nearly 310 km long, it crosses four departments.
The man intervened very early in its history, testifies to the diversion, in the sixteenth century, of its mouth.
This exhibition presents a plural and general look at this river and the special relationship it has had with its residents and distant visitors since the dawn of time.
