Die Europäischen Tage des Kulturerbes 2023, die unter dem Thema «Lebendiges Erbe» stehen, werden im Zentrum des wunderschönen mittelalterlichen Dorfes Urval zwischen seiner wunderschön restaurierten Kirche und seinem außergewöhnlichen, banalen Ofen, der für diesen Anlass wieder in Betrieb genommen wurde, vorschlagen, eine Werkstatt für Steinmetzarbeiten. Letzteres ermöglicht es dem Autor, dem Publikum Schauspiele zu präsentieren, die von Geheimnis, Schönheit und Seltenheit durchdrungen sind. In der Tat werden hier das Polyeder und das fraktale Sternoktaeder entdeckt: Diese seltsamen und raffinierten Lumen schmückten im wesentlichen die Spitze der Eingangspfeiler der reichen Häuser des Südwestens im 19. Jahrhundert, ganz besonders im benachbarten Departement Gers. Die Steinmetze dieser Zeit, die diese erstaunlichen Figuren schufen, sind heute unbekannt; die Seltenheit und die komplexe Verarbeitung ihrer Werke lassen vermuten, dass sie die Kunst des Striches und des Steinschnitts perfekt beherrschten. In diesen zwei Tagen werden wir gemeinsam versuchen, diese rätselhafte Tradition wiederzubeleben.

The European Heritage Days 2023, under the theme of «Living Heritage», will propose in the center of the beautiful medieval village of Urval, between its superbly restored church and its ordinary excep-tional oven restored for the occasion, a stone carving workshop. The latter will allow its author to present to the public sculp-tures shrouded in mystery, beauty and rarity. The polyhedron and the fractal star octahedron will be discovered: these strange and refined volumes essentially decorated the top of entrance pillars of the rich houses of the Southwest in the nineteenth century, especially in the neighboring department of Gers. The stonemasons of the time, creators of these amazing figures remain today unknown; the rarity and complex workmanship of their works suggest that they mastered the art of the line and the stone carving. We will try together, during these two days, to revive this enigmatic tradition.

Le Giornate Europee del Patrimonio 2023, poste sotto il tema del «Patrimonio Vivente», proporranno al centro del magnifico villaggio medievale di Urval, tra la sua chiesa superbamente restaurata e la sua ecce-zialità banale rimessa in funzione per l'occasione, un laboratorio di lavorazione della pietra. Quest'ultimo permetterà al suo autore di presentare al pubblico sculture intrise di mistero, di bellezza, di rarità. Si scoprirà infatti il poliedro e l'ottaedro stellato frattale: questi strani e raffinati vo lume decoravano essenzialmente la sommità di pilastri d'ingresso delle ricche case del Sud-Ovest nel XIX secolo, in particolare nel vicino dipartimento del Gers. Gli scalpellini dell'epoca, creatori di queste sorprendenti figure, restano oggi sconosciuti; la rarità e la complessa fattura delle loro opere lasciano immaginare che essi padroneggiavano alla perfezione l'arte del tratto e del taglio della pietra. Cercheremo insieme, in questi due giorni, di far rivivere questa enigmatica tradizione.

Les Journées Européennes du Patrimoine 2023, placées sous le thème du « Patrimoine Vivant », proposeront au centre du magnifique village médiéval d’Urval, entre son église superbement restaurée et son excep-tionnel four banal remis en fonction pour l’occasion, un atelier de taille de pierre. Ce dernier permettra à son auteur de présenter au public des sculp-tures nimbées de mystère, de beauté, de rareté.
On y découvrira en effet le polyèdre et l’octaèdre étoilé fractal : ces vo-lumes étranges et raffinés décoraient essentiellement le sommet de piliers d’entrée des riches maisons du Sud-Ouest au XIXe siècle, tout particulière-ment dans le département voisin du Gers.
Les tailleurs de pierre de l’époque, créateurs de ces étonnantes figures restent aujourd’hui inconnus ; la rareté et la facture complexe de leurs œuvres laissent imaginer qu’ils maitrisaient à la perfection l’art du trait et de la taille de pierre.
Nous essaierons ensemble, durant ces deux jours, de faire revivre cette énigmatique tradition.

Las Jornadas Europeas de Patrimonio 2023, bajo el tema del «Patrimonio Vivo», propondrán en el centro del magnífico pueblo medieval de Urval, entre su iglesia magníficamente restaurada y su excepcionalmente famoso horno puesto en funcionamiento para la ocasión, un taller de piedra. Este último permitirá a su autor presentar al público esculturas llenas de misterio, belleza, rareza. En efecto, se descubrirá el poliedro y el octaedro estrellado fractal: estos extraños y refinados lúmenes decoraban esencialmente la cumbre de pilares de entrada de las ricas casas del Suroeste en el siglo XIX, en particular en el departamento vecino de Gers. Los canteros de la época, creadores de estas sorprendentes figuras, son hoy desconocidos; la escasez y la complejidad de sus obras hacen pensar que dominaban a la perfección el arte del trazo y de la talla de piedra. Durante estos dos días trataremos juntos de revivir esta enigmática tradición.
