About the location

Galerie d'Art sacré
2 Place Georges Coudray, 47200 Marmande
  • Lot-et-Garonne
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Gallery of Sacred Art, installed in the former parish library of Marmande, is an important heritage and historical space. Today, it serves as a setting for an exhibition gallery of sacred art objects. This room, opened wide on the cloister by a large glass wall clad in wood, is a real showcase for these objects so rarely presented to the public. It showcases more than twenty liturgical objects from the churches of Notre-Dame de Marmande, Saint-Vincent de Coussan, Notre-Dame de Beyssac and the Saint-Benoît chapel such as chalices, ostensors-soleil, reliquaries, processional crosses... It also houses an exceptional «Way of the Cross» by contemporary painter Rémi Trotereau, dedicated to the «Passion», a work of rare emotional power.
