Laure Tiberghien’s work is part of a current of research on the elementary properties of photography. Obtained without a camera, the image comes from the unique combination of light, chemistry and time, and results from long hours spent in the darkroom. It is not surprising that the artist chose to call his exhibition «8 minutes and 19 seconds», the time necessary for sunlight to reach the Earth.
Laure Tiberghien continues her archaeological exploration of the medium with a new set of coloured abstractions: silver salts, metallic or stony effects, photosensitive surfaces and temporal strata.
