The Graignes-Mesnil-Angot Memorial is a Franco-American memorial erected in homage to Norman civilians and American soldiers, who died during the battle of June 6-12, 1944\. The inauguration took place on Sunday, June 12, 1949, in the presence of Mr. David Bruce, Ambassador of the United States to France. Under the Memorial, a large marble plaque bears in gold letters the names of sixty-three victims of the fighting, thirty-two civilians and thirty-one American paratroopers.
