Located in the heart of the town, Lessay Abbey is an emblematic monument of the Côte des Havres. Every year, thousands of visitors come to discover this jewel of Romanesque architecture.
Built in the 11th century by the lords of The Hague du Puits, the Lessay Abbey is world-renowned as one of the first Romanesque churches to have vaults on a ribbed vault. Indeed, this architectural innovation and the purity of its lines make the Lessay Abbey a majestic ensemble very appreciated by visitors. Almost completely destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt identically after 13 years of work.
