About the location

Petit Palais, musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris
Avenue Winston-Churchill 75008 Paris
  • Paris
  • Île-de-France
Built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, the Petit Palais was, like the Grand Palais, destined to continue to become the Museum of Fine Arts of the City of Paris. It took the place of the east wing of the former industrial palace erected for the universal exhibition of 1855\. The architect Charles Girault had a trapeze-shaped land: he organized the monument around an inner courtyard in a semi-circle arranged as a garden and bordered by a peristyle supported by Doric columns.
