On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the National Office of Combatants and War Victims organizes a guided tour of the Algerian War Memorial and the battles of Morocco and Tunisia. Inaugurated on December 5, 2002 by Jacques Chirac, this memorial pays tribute to the men, women, members of the alternate formations, called of the contingent or volunteers who died for France as well as to the civilian victims or disappeared on the margins of the conflict in Algéri, in Morocco and Tunisia between 1952 and 1964. More than 26,000 victim names scroll through the three white and red blue columns. Alongside a guide-mediator, discover the genesis of this memorial, and the historical, memorial and social issues it evokes. Between the Seine and the Eiffel Tower, this memorial is the cornerstone of the construction of the memories of the Algerian war and the fight of Morocco and Tunisia.

Inaugurated in 2002 on the Quai Branly promenade, the memorial consists of three luminous columns in the colours of the French flag on which parade the names of combatants and victims of the Algerian war and the fighting of Morocco and Tunisia from 1952 to 1964\. On the ground, a dedication recalls "The memory of the fighters who died for France [...] and that of all the members of the auxiliary forces killed after the ceasefire in Algeria, many of whom have not been identified".
