Elisabethville: looking for the 1920s subdivision.
1 – Saturday, September 16, starting at 2:30 p.m.: An easy route will take you along the avenues and boulevards of Elisabethville in search of biases in the urban evolution of the neighbourhood. From the promoter of the twenties to contemporary additions, including the «Renault-Zehrfuss» vision of the 1950s. Many pauses will give meaning to the landscape and measure its evolution.
Go to Place de l'Etoile in Élisabethville-Aubergenville - 78410. Parking is possible on the covered market parking lot.
2 - Sunday 17 September from 2.30pm: Élisabethville at the «Belle Époque»: castle, golf, model farm and «Paris beach» will be evoked throughout a country course that will lead us to the new developments of the banks of the Seine. It will be an opportunity to talk about achievements that have now disappeared, but foundations of the first urbanization of the district and its "Art Deco" period.
Meet in front of the Nelly Rodi Park kiosk, near the Place de Louvain in Elisabethville-Aubergenville - 78410. Parking possible on the stadium parking lot and in the surrounding streets.

The subdivision of the Garenne at the origin of the districts of Elisabethville.
In May 1921, just a century ago, the secular estate of La Garenne – in the territory of the communes of Aubergenville and Epône – was sold to a Franco-Belgian company headed by the mutualist Edmond Ramoisy. Nearly 200 hectares of wood and brush were to be turned over to a completely original urban development project in the post-World War I years. Alongside a castle hotel offering tennis and golf, a prestigious «beach of Paris», villas of neo-norman style rise from 1923, giving the site its architectural unity. The Garenne subdivision, with its innovative facilities and art deco monuments associated with names such as the architect Paul Tournon and the sculptor Carlo Sarrabezolles, became the garden town of Elisabethville.
