La Villa Berthe ou la Hublotière
72 route de Montesson 78110 Le Vésinet
Built in 1896 and known as Hublotière, this house that reveals some forms of Gothic art, is the work of Hector Guimard (1867-1942), the famous architect "art nouveau". Each facade has its own identity. The entrance grille immediately sets the tone, with its wrought iron «green stem» and its fine and slender curves. This is the main characteristic of Guimard’s style, which can be found in most of his works.A remarkable symbiosis of the simplified neo-Gothic influence, the house was inspired in Guimard by the one he called his master and whom he appreciated so much, Viollet-le-Duc.
