Visit of the ceramics collection of Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat
The particularity of Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat is to have developed in his workshop of Bourg-la-Reine, a particular color: the famous "red Dalpayrat". Presented in the house where he lived, Art Nouveau-inspired flamed pellets and polychrome earthenware inherited from the eighteenth century testify to the interpretation of a traditional know-how: ceramics, appeared in the Neolithic!
A permanent exhibition dealing with the influence of Art Nouveau on his work, the inventiveness of forms and his work on matter, the development of the "Rouge Dalpayrat" and the ceramic tradition in Bourg-la-Reine, accompanies the visit.

Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat is one of the most important representatives of the ceramic revival that affected Europe at the end of the 19th century. Over the years, the city of Bourg-la-Reine has worked to bring together works that bear witness to the variety of the ceramist’s production: the collection, with more than a hundred pieces, is now presented in a part of the house where the artist lived.
