Jiří Menzl - born 85 years ago - is an icon of Czech (Soviet) cinematography. Oscar winner at only 28 for the film "Closely Watched Trains" - Best Foreign Film (1968) - his career is momentarily interrupted by the arrival of the Soviets invading Czechoslovakia.
