The fables of Marie de France, by Cie l'Impertinente
The fables of Marie de France, by Cie l'Impertinente
500 years before the illustrious Jean de La Fontaine, the poet Marie de France wrote magnificent animal fables inspired by Aesop. A writing without concession, lively and sharp. This musical show aims to introduce a young audience to the writing of this medieval pioneer, who was the first fabulist in the French language, and whose works appear as one of the greatest narrative and poetic achievements of the 12th century. It is especially addressed to 8/12 years old, but also to their parents, to share these funny texts, sometimes tender or cruel, philosophical or political and especially conducive to introspection and debate. Marie de France addressed a young prince destined to govern: this show is addressed to young citizens brought to build themselves through their experiences and their choices of life.
