The Artefact93 association, creation and workshop know-how was born from an observation: the sector of the creation of artistic and artisanal objects, is a major cultural and heritage issue in terms of sociability, image and employment.
A partnership work made it possible to establish bridges between heritage, cultural wealth and the population with among others the Franciade association which publishes objects derived from the archaeological heritage of Saint Denis. Promoting exchanges, promoting members' actions and improving their visibility, developing cross-cutting solidarity projects, pooling resources, are part of Artefact93’s missions. Our local, workshop-shop, located at 2 bis rue du Cygne, in this swan island attached to the archaeological unit, offers a space for transmission, creation, exhibition and sale for our members and guests.
The living becomes heritage when it is shared. We rub the imagination, we develop, we cross techniques, we innovate know-how….
Artefact93 offers several meeting places around the European Heritage Days:
- Two exhibition windows, offered to the inhabitants of Saint Denis by the cultural service, in the rue de la boulangerie will be invested from 13 September to 13 October 2023. We will inaugurate these windows on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 6pm**.**
In one of the windows a playful and artistic presentation of the members of artefact93, illustrating our different know-how. We have chosen to develop our workshop "Mini Domus". In a box giving the scale of our poetic house, each object, furniture, coating will be created and made in miniature with the technique of each. Around our "Mini Domus" will be installed frames floating in a night of blue velvet, as in a case. These frames will host an exhibition of personal works or a work in pairs made in response to the proposals made for the development of the "Mini Domus".
In the second showcase, the visual artist Chaabane Mesbah will exhibit an architectural wooden construction, playing on the full and loose, through light, radiant like the Rose of the basilica of Saint-Denis.

Saturday, September 16

In our office at 2 bis rue du Cygne: Jacques Hardy will demonstrate his passion and knowledge of the carpet and its human environment. - presentation of weaving/weaving typical of some countries and regions - possibility of diagnosis and advice, possible intervention on carpets brought by visitors.
A few steps away, Amina Youcef Khodja weaver will make a weaving demonstration: "L'atelier des tissages, les secrets d'Azeta".

Sunday, September 17

"If my city was told to me" We want to survey the inhabitants of Saint-Denis to collect personal stories about the idea of heritage, on their experience of the city and the territorialities through the installation of a device to capture images to interview the inhabitants of Saint-Denis, those who have always lived there, those who have just arrived. Qile Wang , Aya Abouelleil for artefact93 and Julien Renucci of the association A.V.E.C by questioning passers**-by, micro-sidewalk around the basilica of Saint Denis**, will select the participants of the videos- interviews around the "Living Heritage" which will take place in the artifact93 room.
A restitution of the film will be made later.
During these European Heritage Days, we will present and offer the "Mini Domus" workshops and weaving workshops that will be held soon at artefact93.

16-09-2023: Jacques Hardy and his carpets at artefact93 from 11h to 18h and Amina Youcef Khodja, weaving and secrets of Azeta from 11h to 18h.
17-09-2023: Micro**-sidewalk around the basilica**- video-interviews on living heritage led by Qile Wang, Aya Abouelleil and Julien Renucci in the artefact93 room. from 10am to 6pm.
