Built after the war of 1870 on 22 hectares at the gates of Paris, the fort of Saint-Cyr presents a perfectly preserved military architecture which earned it its classification as a historical monument in 1992.
It houses since 1983 the photographic collections of the Minister of Culture managed by the Médiathèque du patrimoine et de la photographie (MPP).
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, come and discover the greatest photographic treasures of the national collections in their admirable conservation case, exceptionally open to the public.
You can also admire the old cars presented by the FFVE (French Federation of Vintage Vehicles) in the fort (Saturday all day, Sunday afternoon subject).

A remarkable element of 19th-century military architecture, the fort was built in 1875 to protect the city of Paris. The site has been assigned to the Ministry of Culture since 1982\. The buildings now house the Photographic Archives of the Media Library of Architecture and Heritage (Directorate-General of Heritage) and are used for the storage and conservation of photographs - soft negatives or glass plates, positive for projection, prints... - and archives.
