A journey in the Hauts de Hurlevent, telling the success of the novel first published under a man’s name and its mixed welcome when the female identity of the author Emily Brontë (1818-1848) was revealed. We know very little about her except her taste for the news and her interest in the debates on the abolition of slavery.
