The recent archaeological and archival discoveries made at the site of the Bauche farm in Marly-la-Ville allow to trace the evolution of the occupation of the plot from the end of Antiquity to the 20th century. The respective and complementary approaches and results of the archaeologist and the archivist document the history of a territory and its inhabitants, thus contributing to the collective making of the local heritage.
By Sébastien Langlois, head of the private and iconographic archives division (Direction des Archives départementales du Val-d'Oise) and Nicolas Warmé, archaeologist (National Institute of preventive archaeological research).
