Per aevum (through time) takes the listener on the path of a trope «Cunctipotens genitor Dei» and its melody, from its monodic birth in the tenth century to the polyphonic apogee of the Renaissance. Century after century, the sound journey is established in a vocal and instrumental dialogue with one, two, three, four or five voices according to the times and the
musicians. Sometimes organum written or improvised, sometimes diminutions, motet or mass movement, the greatest composers (Machaut, Binchois, J. de Anchieta, Isaac, etc.) used it as a starting point to craft luminous polyphonies. To better illuminate the periods visited, each piece is associated with another musical work of the same period testifying to another genre or subject in order to complete the aesthetic lighting. The listener crosses the ages by following a common thread through six centuries of stylistic varieties and masterpieces mixed with little-known pieces.

Former church of the professed house of the Jesuits (current Lycée Charlemagne). In 1580, the cardinal of Bourbon, uncle of Henri IV, gave the Jesuits a plot of land on the site of the enclosure of Philippe-Auguste. King Louis XIII will participate in the costs of the construction and, in his honour, the name of Saint-Louis will be given to the new church. The construction site, directed by the Jesuit architect Etienne Martellange and then by Father François Derand, lasted 14 years, from 1627 to 1641 (the date of the first mass celebrated by Cardinal de Richelieu). From 1641 to 1762 the church reached its peak: Bishop Bossuet or the Jesuit Bourdaloue came to pronounce prayers, which Mme de Sévigné came to listen to. Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Delalande and Rameau were chapel masters there. Today there is a Virgin of Germain Pilon and a Christ in the Garden of Olives of Delacroix.
