Musée Cernuschi

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Cernuschi Museum highlights the monumental sculpture of carved dragons, back in the permanent path of collections after restoration.
This element of Japanese architecture figured prominently in the room of the living Buddha of Cernuschi, collector at the origin of the museum. Deposited in the 1930s, it has never been fully exhibited for several decades. After several months of closure, the Buddha Room once again welcomes this spectacular work to its original location in the heart of the museum.
Echoing this work, participants, from the age of 10, are introduced to wood carving and realize a motif inspired by the frieze of carved dragons. All audiences, from 10 years accompanied
Workshop proposed by the workshop Marie La Varande.

Since its opening to the public in 1898, the Musée Cernuschi, the Musée des arts de l'Asie de la Ville de Paris, has brought together nearly 15,000 objects from China, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. A true invitation to travel in the setting of the mansion imagined in the 19th century by Henri Cernuschi, the new tour, inaugurated in 2020, presents a rethought panorama enriched by 5,000 years of Asian art.
