Former municipal swimming pool of Roubaix built by Albert Baert between 1927 and 1932 in an art deco style, renovated into a museum in 2001 and then enlarged in 2018 by Jean-Paul Philippon, La Piscine exhibits the richness of its modern art collections (painting, sculpture, ceramics, textile and fashion) in this place which was considered for more than fifty years as the «most beautiful swimming pool of France». Organized around three seasons of annual exhibitions, each bringing together four to five exhibitions per season, this rich program, allowing each discovery and surprise, sees succeeding the most prestigious signatures such as Picasso, Chagall, Claudel, Degas, Signac, more unknown artists but also creators in the fields of decorative arts and fashion.
