Canon of the Church of Reims, Nicolas Roland based(established), in 1670, the Congregation of the saint baby Jesus de Reims, community of nuns dedicated to the education of the orphans and poor children. Nicolas Roland is considered as a precursor of Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, whose spiritual adviser it was. Beatified in Rome, by the pope Jean Paul II, on October 16th, 1994, he rests(bases) in the crypt of the Headquarters of the Congregation of the sisters de l' children-Jesus in Reims. Concerning buildings(ships) and to quote of B. Fouqueray (Brunette, architects of the city of Reims, on 1838-1916):« They will return on the robust buildings(ships) of the sisters of the child Jesus, and especially the chapel whom a recent cleaning revamped and whose architecture of Gothic style is in every respect improved, both in profiles and mouldings, and in the drawing of capitals(big tops) and of elements of remplage of windows. The alternation of the brick and of a fine beige calcareous stone and the doorjambs of windows, emphasise the series of the wide bays(berries) in third point which make up(compose) this impressive building(ship) in the angle of the streets of Barbâtre and of the Orphans».
