About the location

Château de Reynel
1 Grande Rue, 52700 Reynel
  • Haute-Marne
  • Grand Est
Due to its strategical situation, the seigniory of Reynel belonged to powerful feudal families, among which Joinville and Amboise, every vassals of the king of France. The castle built in the Xth century, rebuilt in Middle Ages, suffered wars of religion, then the Thirty Years War, so in the middle of the XVIIth century, it was in a dilapidated state such as, during his purchase in 1763, Joseph-Adrien of the Street, count of Mareilles, removed vestiges except for a round tower. And the castle was rebuilt to such as it appears as a whole today (registered on the Additional Inventory of Historic monuments).
Numerous furniture, woodworks and paintings(boards).
