On the origin of the first church of Brousseval, the elements are missing. If one refers to the list of parish priests who serve Brousseval, then annex of Vallerest, it is established that worship has been celebrated in the commune since 1654 at least.
However, we have some indications from the 18th century. Thus, the church already existed in 1744\. On October 7, 1750, the 3 church bells were blessed by Abbé François Prignot and the nave dates from 1780-1786\.
In the 19th century, the church was completely restored (1865). The work was carried out by Aldéric Prince-Lapierre. On the occasion of this restoration, at the time of the demolition of the base of the altar, two stones are discovered, as well as relics that probably came from the chapel of the Keep. The two stones and relics are re-incorporated in the altar renovated in 1865\. In addition, the bell tower is modified in 1833\.
