Inaugurated in 1998, the current building, the work of architects François Peiffer, Bruno Freycenon and Frank Plays, becomes the Conservatoire à rayonnement départemental Marcel-Landowski. Marcel Landowski is a composer of the 20th century. He was appointed Director of Music at the Comédie-Française, then took over the «Direction de la musique, de l'art lyrique et de la danse» within the Ministry of Culture. Its missions are to develop the cultural offer (music and art education) in the provinces. In 1975, he became inspector general of music and then director of cultural affairs in Paris. Chancellor of the Institut de France and Perpetual Secretary of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, he contributed to numerous cultural projects in the territory.
