From 1912 to 1927, nearly 4,000 young Chinese came to France under a negotiated agreement between the authorities of both countries to study and work. If all the French territory is concerned by this history, Montargis has a special role on three levels: pioneer city in this exchange (since 1912), large number of Chinese compared to other cities, major importance of the city in the development of communist homes and even in the creation of the CCP (Cai Hesen and Deng Xiaoping)

Inaugurated in 2016, the museum commemorates the arrival of Chinese workers in France from 1912 to 1927 with Montargis as the first city to sign the agreement between the two countries. This museum recalls the adventure of the association Travail-Etudes which allowed 4000 young Chinese to come to work and study in France. Cai Heisen and Deng Xiaoping were part of the trip and played an important role in the creation of the Chinese Communist Party in France.
